Terra Lightfoot Shares Lead Single From Upcoming Album
Sonic Unyon recording artist Terra Lightfoot is thrilled to release “Never Will,” the debut single from her forthcoming album, Every Time My Mind Runs Wild (out April 14, 2015 on Sonic Unyon Records, distributed by Sony Music Entertainment Canada).
Lightfoot’s upcoming long-player was produced and mixed by Gus van Go and Werner F (Monster Truck, Said The Whale, The Trews) and mixed by Noah Mintz (Death from Above 1979, The Sheepdogs, Danko Jones).
Forged around the core trio of guitarist-vocalist Lightfoot, bassist Matthew Fleming and drummer Joel Haynes, and rounded out by session keyboardist Liam O’Neil (The Stills), the album distils all that audiences have come to love about the artist — fluid, fiery guitar-work and powerful vocals and melodies that resonate for days. From the sad-eyed swagger of opener “All Alone” to the haunted ballad “Splinter” that closes the set, the album establishes Lightfoot as an electrifying talent.
Bursting out of the speakers with an irresistible twang and propulsive backbeat, lead single “Never Will” is a bluesy romp that plays unrequited love off against unquenchable self-confidence. A hook-heavy blast of summer, the song is a bold calling card and fitting re-introduction to an artist never more assured in her musical identity and creative power.
The digital single for “Never Will” is available for purchase (via iTunes) and streaming via Soundcloud and Spotify now.
